Get Involved

ROTIS is looking for self-motivated, outgoing and committed individuals to conduct presentations, work with committees, and drop off information packages to local businesses that are frequented by seniors. If you are interested in helping behind the scenes, we are always in need of volunteers who are able to work from home.

If you would like to work directly with a senior, we can connect you with one of the agencies in our network that does hands-on work with the elderly.

If you are a senior and would like to get involved with ROTIS, join our CMSS (Community Mobilization by Seniors for Seniors) team. The objective of this group is to educate the public about isolated seniors. More specifically, this public education initiative will involve holding information sessions for non-traditional referral sources (NTRSs) like banks, pharmacies, seniors' centres and service clubs.

NTRSs often see seniors on a more regular basis than traditional referral sources, such as medical personnel. NTRSs are more likely to notice a senior who is in decline or experiencing difficulties. As a result, educating NTRSs about ROTIS is fundamental to identifying and assisting those in need.

CMSS is a senior helping senior initiative. This means that the CMSS project is managed and coordinated by a committee of senior volunteers. At the same time, senior volunteers (like you!) will actively provide public education to the NTRSs described above.
